Meet Co-Founder of Vilacello, Callista Myers Miller-Escoto.
One of Callista’s greatest joys in life is both playing and sharing music! Recent concert engagements included a recital in Oley, PA with Vilacello and recitals throughout Berks County with the Reading Pops Orchestra.
Born and raised in Berks County, Pennsylvania, Callista has been engaged in numerous musical endeavors throughout Pennsylvania since she started playing viola at the age of 8 years old. She studied under accomplished violist, Dottie Stoltzfus.
Callista has a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from Pennsylvania State University. She currently serves as Sr. Quality Specialist at Nestle Health Science’s Global Research & Development site in Bridgewater, NJ. There she is one of the QA representatives on renovation and innovation projects for medical nutrition products as well as vitamin and mineral health supplement products for brands like Orgain, Vital Proteins, Nature’s Bounty, and Compleat.
“There is nothing like the beauty of collaboration born when musicians play together. Cherish it! I want to encourage students to continuously receive inspiration from the things around them, like people, events happening in the world, nature, etc. As musicians, we have to foster passion and emotion with rich harmonies and timeless rhythms, so we can tell a story that can be understood universally, breaking the walls that often divide us. I hope in some small way I can inspire students no matter what professional path they choose – that they should always hold on to the precious gift of music and be grateful for these experiences they can have at events like the summer music institute of Vilacello. These are the memories in life that one will cherish the most.”
