Hi, I’m Ethan Z and I am 12 years old. My first musical instrument was the piano. I started playing piano at age 4, and it was my only instrument (other than me humming) until I was in 3rd grade. That year, I got first place piano scholarship from RMF for the first time, and halfway through the year I had the option to start a string instrument. My mom and I decided to have me play the cello. Two years following my string instrument, I started my first wind instrument: the clarinet. I am still pretty bad at the clarinet compared to others across the county, but somehow I’m still the best at my school. I got into RSJSO in 6th grade, the year after the pandemic hit. And that was also the year I first joined the piano quartet. Nothing has really changed from the past year to this year, other than self-improving a little every year.
