Julia Moyer began playing piano at four years old and violin at five years old. She has enjoyed playing ever since. She was a student in the Reading Symphony Junior String Orchestra for four years, as both principal second violin and concertmaster. As concertmaster, she had the opportunity to perform first violin in Souvenir de Florence by Tchaikovsky. While still mentoring students in the junior orchestra, she now participates in the Reading Youth Orchestra. In the summer of 2022, she performed in a string trio, presenting “Trio for Two Violins and Cello” by Alexander Borodin.
Julia occasionally performs with Cherrywood String Ensembles and accompanies her church services and their special music services regularly. Whenever she performs, Julia hopes to bless others through the gift of music. Julia is currently studying with Bartholomew Shields, will be attending the Csehy Summer School of Music this summer, and looks forward to more opportunities to further her music education.
