Thomas Heath, 14, began playing the violin when he was 6 years of age. For the past three years, he has performed with the Reading Symphony Junior Strings Orchestra and is a current member of the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra. Thomas was recently awarded second prize in the Reading Musical Foundation’s Katherine N. Quartner – Rita Quartner Herman String Scholarship. In the summer of 2022, he participated in a chamber group performance of “Trio for Two Violins and Cello” by Alexander Borodin. In addition to yearly recitals, Thomas plays regularly for his church’s various music ministries. He is currently studying under the instruction of Bartholomew Shields and wishes to pursue further education in violin performance upon graduating high school.
